She was stunned when her husband revealed he wanted to give up custody of the boy he adopted to his biological father and further shocked when he suddenly passed away on her. Now, Chelsea will be faced with some new drama as Adam tries to use Calvin’s death as an opportunity to win her back again on the Monday. July 8 episode of “The Young and the Restless.”

Chelsea (Melissa Clare Egan) was floored when Calvin (John Burke) unexpectedly passed away not long after dropping a bombshell that he felt they should let Adam (Marc Grossman) have Connor back. Now she’s stuck in Genoa City on the CBS soap and once again in a vulnerable state—something that Adam will see as an opportunity to get her back, despite her earlier insistence that she was happy in her marriage and would never return to be with him again. As expected, after Chelsea is initially cleared to go from the police as they investigate her husband’s death, Adam will work quickly to try and convince her to be with him.

“Adam wants to move forward with Chelsea,” spoilers reveal.

However, Chelsea won’t be swayed that easily, especially since she just lost her new husband. She also refuses to trust Adam, especially after realizing he spoke with Calvin about Connor. She will likely believe he tried to coerce the man into giving up the boy so he could have his son back, and Chelsea will resist him for that alone.

In addition, she seems to still be drawn to Nick (Joshua Morrow), which will only serve to complicate things since he is the one who has custody of Adam’s other son—and is also engaged in his own battle with Adam over keeping the kid he sees as his own. Adam also likely won't take the rejection well--putting Chelsea in further jeopardy.

“The Young and the Restless” airs weekdays at 12:30 p.m. EDT on CBS.
