Their relationship has been strained ever since the truth came out about her causing the crash that took Hilary’s life. However, Devon will make a big move towards putting the past behind him and forgiving his sister for the things she’s done on the Thursday, Sept. 13 episode of “The Young and the Restless.”

After Shauna (Camryn Hamm) revealed during Hilary’s (Mishael Morgan) memorial service that Lily (Christel Khalil) had run the red light, causing the accident which killed not only Devon’s (Bryton James) wife but the baby they were expecting as well, the sibling’s relationship went completely up in flames on the CBS soap. Not only did Devon warn Lily she had better turn herself in or he would, he insisted on asking for the maximum sentence when it came to the time she would do because he couldn’t get over the fact that because of her actions, his wife and baby were dead.

At her sentencing hearing, Devon changed his mind, however, asking the judge for leniency. Though the judge agreed that a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison was excessive, he felt Lily needed to be an example of the consequences that would come from reckless driving. As a result, she was sentenced to one year in Walworth Prison, where she is now serving time. Though Devon admitted to her at the time that he felt she didn’t deserve excessive punishment, he also said he couldn’t forgive her.

Now though, as Lily’s husband, Cane (Daniel Goodard) and children, Mattie (Lexie Stevenson) and Charlie (Noah Alexander Gerry), prepare to visit her, Devon will find himself asked if he wants to go too. He will initially say no but will change his mind, getting some alone time with his jailed sister as a result.

It will be during that visit that Devon will finally admit to Lily that he forgives her for everything that happened and that he knows his sister is a good person—and Hilary’s death was truly a tragic accident. Though he won’t be able to keep her from serving the time she’s been sentenced to any longer, his forgiveness will likely go a long way to slowly reform the relationship they once shared.

“The Young and the Restless” airs weekdays at 12:30 p.m. EDT on CBS.
