A recent visit to South Africa didn't turn out too well for American social media personality Logan Paul, who was harassed by two monkeys.

Paul took to his Twitter handle to post the video of the unpleasant encounter. The 26-year-old, who is currently in Cape Town to shoot content for one of his channels, managed to film the native monkeys running riot. The video shows Paul and his friend freaking out as one of the monkeys leaps toward the YouTuber, visibly intimidating him.

"WTF just happened?" Paul captioned the video. As one of the primates, seated on top of a vehicle, chased away Paul, the other begins to sift through his backpack. "What do I do? Not the camera. What do I do? He's got the camera," Paul is heard saying.

Paul, who just escaped from being attacked by the monkey, then asks his cameraman about the other primate. "Is he grabbing my s**t'" Paul asks. The cameraman then pans toward the other monkey, which is seen running off with a bright-red colored bottle of what seemed like his recently released Logan X KSI's hydration drink PRIME. "The monkey has Prime!" the cameraman said.

The video ends with Paul successfully reclaiming his backpack and his camera. He also managed to dodge an attack by the other monkeys in the area.

British YouTuber KSI was among those who retweeted Paul's video.

The internet users were quick to identify the primates as being native to South Africa. "those are definitely SA baboons," one user wrote in the comment. "Bro that's cape point, his here with @Casey and @MrBeast," one fan said. "Yeah check the bakkies CAW number plate and taxi in the background," wrote a third user.

The clip has also raised doubts if the whole situation was a publicity stunt for the drink's launch. "I like you, Logan. I really do. I think you're a good guy. But not literally everything you release to the public has to be an ad or promotion. I hope someday you'll understand this and become more than a living ad for yourself and your brand," a comment read.
