Tammy Slaton's family became desperate when she quit breathing.

The Slatons are returning to TLC for the fourth season of "1000-Lb Sisters." In the teaser exclusively obtained by People, TLC revisited the aftermath when Tammy was rushed to the hospital after she stopped breathing.

The family was worried about her physical state while they were waiting for her to recuperate.

"Her body shut down," Amy Slaton said in the video.

The clip also showed Tammy getting a tracheotomy — a surgical procedure where a hole in the throat is made for a breathing tube — to ensure emergency breathing support. Despite the health scare, Tammy exclaimed, "I'm still here, b—s!"

Tammy also asked her doctor, Dr. Eric Smith, if she could get bariatric surgery. However, he disapproved of the idea, telling Tammy that she still needed to lose a significant amount of weight to proceed with the surgery.

"I told you, Tammy, you have real risks," her surgeon, Dr. Smith, warned her before her brother Chris added, "If she doesn't get the surgery, she's gonna die because of her weight."

In the Season 3 finale, Tammy decided to check into a rehab facility to help her lose weight after seeing how happy her brother, Chris, was with his achievement. His family was supportive and even threw her a bon voyage party. She wasn't feeling well on the way to the facility.

A day after Chris dropped her off, they received a call that she had quit breathing. Tammy's family was emotional when she was rushed to the hospital because her health had "taken a turn for the worse."

"They're just telling us that her lungs have given up and like her body is shutting down," Tammy's sister, Amanda, said in the episode filmed last year. "So at this point, you know, we're facing making funeral arrangements for my little sister."

"I'm just sitting here thinking, 'Oh my god.' She's been in such a bad place for so long. She waited too long. And now that she has the courage to step out and get the help that she needs, now this," Amanda continued.

Tammy pulled through the health scare. She woke up four days after she was put in a medically induced coma.

The third season ended with Tammy returning to rehab after she recovered from her health scare. At the time, her brother Chris said she had already lost 30 pounds in 30 days.

"1000-Lb Sisters" Season 4 premieres on Jan. 19 at 9 p.m. ET.
