In a horrific incident, the mutilated body of a 58-year-old man was found with bite marks from dogs inside a home in Spain on Monday.

The police said the man died several weeks ago at his home in Museros in Valencia Province. He had reportedly been living with 11 pet dogs, according to local media La Razon [Google Translation showed].

On Monday, a relative of the man arrived at his home after not hearing from him for a long time. When he entered the house, he found the man's corpse had been dismembered by the 11 hungry dogs.

According to authorities, the man is believed to have died of natural causes because "nothing indicates that he had been killed by the animals," La Razon reported. Emergency services arrived at the scene and took the man's remains for an autopsy. The victim has not been identified.

The police spoke to the neighbors who said they had last seen him shopping on Holy Thursday. He was also spotted later having lunch at a bar.

”He was an animal lover. He had ten or twelve dogs,” one neighbor told local media. He was “a lifelong neighbor of the town, a very good, honest and hard-working person who on some occasion has worked for the City Council."

However, one neighbor told the Olive Press they knew the victim had a pet pitbull, but were unaware he had 10 more dogs. The dogs have been sent to two animal rescue shelters.

Last year in India, a stray dog was caught on camera nibbling at the dead body of a girl in a hospital. The 20-second video, showing a canine gnawing at the dead body that was left unattended on a stretcher, went viral on social media. The body was covered with a white cloth. The girl was reportedly a victim of a road accident. "The body was handed over to the family after formalities. They didn't want an autopsy and were taking it away. They might have left the body unattended for a minute when it happened. I wrote to local authorities about the stray dog menace but to no avail," Dr. Sushil Verma told local media at the time.
