A 15-month-old baby girl was allegedly bitten dozens of times at an Arizona daycare, the mother of the child claimed. According to local reports, the mother found the bite marks after picking her up from the Creative Beginnings Daycare in Tucson.

Alice Martin said her daughter acted "fussy" and she found the bite marks when she gave her a bath that day.

"I was taking off her onesie for a bath after dinner to give her a bath and... it was just horrible," Martin said. She said she filed a police report and called the Arizona Department of Health Services.

"I filed a police report for negligence and notified the Department of Health who handles daycare accreditation, the case has is still under investigation," she explained in a Facebook post. "Neither department contacted me with updates, and I signed up for victim notification... They did not even call when it occurred, or notify me when I picked her up after work. All of these bites happened in one day."

Martin told local media that detectives told her it would be difficult to prosecute the daycare.

"It's especially difficult with younger children who can't talk to tell what happened...so it's basically my word against the daycare," Martin said.

Giving details about the bite marks, Martin said: "It's stomach-turning. It feels both angry and sad at the same time... At first, I was like 'are those really bite marks?' And then, my brain kinda stopped thinking and I started crying."

According to the Daily Mail, the Tucson Police Department Officer Raymond Smith said the bites seem to be from another child and that the TPD Child Physical Abuse Unit was investigating the case.

No charges or arrests were made as of Wednesday.

"The fact that nobody intervened in how many minutes, maybe they were left alone, maybe they just disregarded the cries, I don't know. But it takes some time to do that kind of biting," Martin said, warning other parents who sent their children to daycares.
