Abby De La Rosa may have received a lot of hate when she chose to carry Nick Cannon's twins but she stood by her decision to remain in an open relationship with him.

"Naturally, yes, I could understand everybody's distaste in the way that I have chosen to live my life and I find it funny too when everyone's coming like, 'He's playing you.' Technically speaking, we all know about each other. It's just how much are you choosing to know and I trust the connection I have with Nick," De La Rosa said Tuesday on "Lovers and Friends Podcast."

The soon-to-be mother-of-three told host Shan Boodram that she endured severe criticism when she was pregnant with Cannon's twins. De La Rosa was the third woman to have a child with the 41-year-old TV host. She was pregnant at the same time Alyssa Scott was expecting a son With Cannon; the child later died at five months old on December 2021 due to brain cancer.

"I've never been hit with thousands of people just telling me their hate for me," she said. "His track record of relationships at the time had been maybe more intensified," she recalled.

"He had a lover over here that, they were going strong and they had been involved for years. Then he had another beautiful family over here that he has. And then he has his ex-wife, who's the queen of all queens," she added in the podcast, referring to Mariah Carey.

Despite all the negativity she received, De La Rosa said that being in an open relationship with Cannon does not affect her self-worth.

"Being in a polyamorous relationship doesn't mean you have low self-esteem or self-worth," she said. "Me being open in my relationship does not change or take away from the type of mother that I am to my kids and the wholeness that I am to them and the strength that I share with them."

De La Rosa – who is raising year-old twins Zion and Zillion earlier joked that Cannon is paving the way for the birth of the next generation called, "Gen C."

While De La Rosa herself did not confirm that Cannon is the father of her third baby, the latter said he is the father of De La Rosa's baby and previously told ET, "You would be close. You would be safe to bet on three [more children] in 2022."
