Not long after the birth of singer Adele and her fiancé Simon Konecki’s son was announced on Saturday, trolls took to the Internet in order to ridicule the new born and his famous mother.

Many on Twitter took several jabs at the “Rolling in the Deep” songstress, according to Daily Mail. The insults ranged from suggesting that Adele would have more material for songs if the baby died or if she suffered from postpartum depression, to some claiming to have not realized that Adele was pregnant due to her weight.

One of the vilest comments came from Twitter user, Vanessa Bieber, who tweeted, “Aw Adele gave birth to a baby. Is it fat and handicapped lol? Just murder it already lol.”

Another user tweeted, “I’ll go see her in the UK and kill her.” To which, someone else responded in a retweet, “And kill her baby.”

Adele is not the first celebrity to be subject to Internet ridicule, the Daily Mail noted. Earlier this year, singer Gary Barlow was targeted by trolls online after announcing that his daughter was stillborn.

A spokesperson for Adele declined comment; however, a source has said that the singer and her fiancé are, “ecstatic,” adding that “she was over the moon that they were expecting their first child together.”

Adele recently released the soundtrack for the latest James Bond movie “Skyfall,” and she is expected to appear at the movie’s premier this Tuesday. But a source told the (U.K.) Sun that she is too enthralled with her new son to attend.

“Adele doesn't want to leave her little boy's side -- it's as simple as that. Now he's here, she can't bear heading out without him, even to hobnob with royalty,” the source said.
