“Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” Season 6 might not be held until summer anymore. A Valentine’s Day promo video reveals May 2019 is when new episodes will arrive.

Since the ABC drama was renewed for Season 6, “summer 2019” has been the response to questions about the premiere date. That’s even what appears at the end of the very first trailer for Season 6. However, the Valentine’s Day promo video, which appeared on the “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” social media pages, ends by saying the show will be back in May 2019. Though it did not give an exact day, it looks like it will get a spring release date.

ABC might be trying to release the show before the Marvel movie buzz dies down. “Avengers: Endgame” premieres April 26, which might make more viewers want to tune in to the Marvel Television show. It’s also important to remember that March’s “Captain Marvel” will star Clark Gregg, who is still set to appear in “S.H.I.E.L.D.” Season 6 despite his character’s apparent death.

Coulson went to Tahiti with May to die as part of his Ghost Rider deal, but the Season 6 trailer reveals that someone is walking around with Coulson’s face. However, it is not the former S.H.I.E.L.D. director. Gregg previously teased that his new role on the TV show is surprising.

“The Coulson role and persona, though always evolving and always having new parts of him revealed to me by our writers became a very familiar skin in a way,” Gregg told Marvel.com. “And to kind of change all of that and find myself playing this other very mysterious person, who is not Phil Coulson, and the mystery of who that person is and why he looks like that is something that they’ve done groundbreaking, wild stuff with that I’m really lucky to play.”

“Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” Season 6 returns in May 2019.
