Friday the 13th
Horror movie fans can catch the 2009 remake of "Friday the 13th" on Friday, Nov. 13, 2015 on AMC at 3:30 p.m. EST. New Line Cinema/ Paramount Pictures

Happy Friday the 13th! It’s the final “unlucky” day of the year and what better way to celebrate than with a marathon of the “Friday the 13th” horror movie franchise. AMC is airing the films back-to-back for what is bound to be the spookiest day of November.

Friday the 13th already occurred twice this year – in February and March. For many, the day represents “misfortune” and “bad luck.” But why? Pure superstition.

Throughout history the day has received a bad rap. According to the History Channel’s website, it’s considered the day when Eve offered Adam the forbidden fruit. Meanwhile, others believe that since the number 12 “signifies completeness,” the number 13 throws everything out of whack. Over time it’s been looped in with other unlucky things – like black cats, broken mirrors and walking underneath ladders.

If you’re brave enough to celebrate the day with a man donning a hockey mask, check out AMC’s full marathon schedule below:

9:30 a.m. EST – “Friday the 13th”

You don’t want to be a counselor at this camp. The original 1980 film tells the tale of summer workers getting killed while working to reopen the facility years after it closed due to a child drowning.

11:30 a.m. EST – “Friday the 13th, Part II”

Camp Crystal Lake might be shut down, but another camp is getting the attention of a crazed killer in this 1981 sequel.

1:30 p.m. EST – “Friday the 13th --- Part III”

An unfortunate group of friends vacationing near Crystal Lake encounter Jason Voorhees in this 1983 film.

3:30 p.m. EST – “Friday the 13th”

This 2009 remake of the classic horror film brings viewers right back to Camp Crystal Lake. The place is still closed up when a group stumbles across it.
