Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone have called it quits already, but their relationship as friends remain strong.

Speaking with Vanity Fair, the actor couldn’t help but gush over his former lady love. When asked about the relationship they have now that they are no longer romantically linked, Garfield said he remains to be Stone’s biggest fan and that he is immensely proud of her growth as an actress.

“We care about each other so much, and that’s a given, that’s kind of this unconditional thing,” Garfield said. “There’s so much love between us and so much respect. I’m her biggest fan as an artist.”

The actor added: “So for me, it’s been bliss to be able to watch her success and watch her bloom into the actress that she is. And it’s also been wonderful to have that kind of support for each other. It’s nothing but a beautiful thing.”

The release of Garfield’s statement comes shortly after the actor was seen giving his ex a standing ovation when she won best actress at the 2017 Golden Globe Awards for her performance in “La La Land.”

The two have been very pleasant as exes. Garfield even said during an actor’s roundtable discussion produced by The Hollywood Reporter that if he gets trapped on a deserted island and can only bring one actor or actress with him, it would be Stone. “I love Emma,” he said. “She’s alright. She can come.”

Stone also said in an interview in October 2016 that she still loves Garfield. “[He’s] someone I still love very much,” Stone said. “I’m really glad you’re sitting down so I can tell you.”

Speaking of the time after they broke up, Stone said: “It’s been interesting. It’s been a good year. And sad. Pros and cons.”

Garfield and Stone started dating in 2012. The two broke up in 2015 because of conflicts in their schedules, although a source said they remain good friends.
