The Android 7.0 Nougat update for the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 began in Turkey last week and now the software is hitting Note 5 handsets in markets including United Arab Emirates, Pakistan, Libya, Iraq, Israel, Morocco, Saudi Arabia and Afghanistan, according to SamMobile.

Handsets are receiving the N920CXXU3CQC7 version of the software, which will take the Galaxy Note 5 from Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow to Android 7.0 Nougat. The 1.3GB update will hit handsets wirelessly. It requires a Wi-Fi connection and fully charged battery to download and install.

As the Android 7.0 Nougat update begins for the Galaxy Note 5, it continues for several models of the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S6. More Canadian carriers are now updating Galaxy S7 models, while the Galaxy S6 Edge+ is also receiving the new software. Other devices updating include the Galaxy S7 Active and Galaxy A5 (2016).

As Android 7.0 updates continue, Google is moving forward with future Android versions. The Android 7.1.2 beta is now available and is expected to roll out officially April 3. The tech giant has also released an Android O preview to developers ahead of Google I/O. The upcoming software is expected to release in the third quarter.

Samsung handsets currently updating to Nougat likely won’t see version 7.1.2, but may update to Android O in the future. Devices like the Galaxy S7 and upcoming Galaxy S8 smartphones will be likely to see Android O.
