Although the Cody boys are still basking in the glory of their successful church heist, the men will have to cut their celebration short when they realize that Smurf is in great danger. On “Animal Kingdom” Season 2, episode 7, the brothers will be forced to let their mother back into their lives due to her life or death situation.

“The boys consider how far they’ll go to help Smurf (Ellen Barkin) eliminate Javi (Alex Meraz),” the TNT synopsis for “Dig” teases. In the promo, Smurf can be heard attempting to give J (Finn Cole) a pep talk following Javi’s attack.

“What you’re feeling now is shame, there was nothing you could do...nothing,” Smurf can be heard saying as J glares into the camera with rage in his eyes.

Although it is unclear what Smurf plans to do about the recent attack, she alludes that she wants her issues with Javi to be over. “This doesn’t end until we end it,” Smurf’s voice can be heard saying over as she holds a beer while looking over a fire.

Will the Codys bring Javi’s rain of terror to the end or are they still deciding whether or not they want to help their mother?

On the previous episode of the TNT show, Javi and two other men broke into Smurf’s house while J and Nicky (Molly Gordon) were home alone. Javi and his men beat J up and almost drowned him in the swimming pool. They also took Nicky hostage which made J get upset because he couldn’t protect her.

Later on in the promo for “Animal Kingdom” Season 2, episode 7, J can be seen approaching Smurf asking her how does he find Javi while Smurf’s voice can be heard saying, “He’s unstable.” Is Smurf referring to one of her boys or is she worried about Javi being even more dangerous than she expected?

“Shaken by what’s happened, Nicky and J get closer,” the synopsis for “Dig” says. In the promo for the drama Nicky can be seen holding a gun as J stands by her side, possibly teaching her how to shoot. The teens shared a kiss in the previous episode just before Javi and his men attacked them. Will Nicky dump Craig (Ben Robson) to be with J or is she just stringing her ex- boyfriend along?

“Baz (Scott Speedman) shares new information with Pope (Shawn Hatosy) about Catherine’s (Danielle Alonso) disappearance,” the synopsis states.

“I’m not doing it,” Baz can be seen saying in the promo, however, it’s unclear what he is referring to. It’s no secret that he wants to be done with Smurf but will he seriously not help protect the woman that raised him?

There is also chance Baz can referring to something that has to deal with looking into Catherine’s past. In the previous episode, Baz found out that Catherine has around $20,000 in her bank account and it hasn’t been touched in months. In other words, there’s a very good chance his wife is dead.

What is Baz refusing to do? Is he completely turned off by the idea of helping Smurf or is he having a hard time facing the fact that his wife didn’t leave him after all?

It should be interesting to see what Pope says in response to the new information discovered about Catherine seeing as he is the one who killed her. The eldest Cody brother has been harboring this secret for quite some time now and only time will tell when the truth will finally come out.

“Animal Kingdom” Season 2, episode 7, airs Tuesday at 9 p.m. EDT on TNT.
