Anri and Takeshima advise Ashito to study Kuribayashi's movements from the match in "Aoashi" Episode 16. The new episode is titled "Just Like You."

The official website of the anime has released the synopsis and spoiler stills of Episode 16. Ashito starts watching the J1 match featuring Kuribayashi. He notices that Kuribayashi shakes his head during the match and decides to implement this unique technique in his own game. However, he is confused by an unfamiliar challenge.

Meanwhile, he has also been losing the drive to play after he is asked to go full back by the coach.

Can Ashito still learn from Kuribayashi and reignite the fire in his belly to improve his game?

In the last episode, Ashito made up his mind to play defense in the team. He recalled how Fukuda has a reason behind everything he says. However, Ashito was not willing to give up his dream of becoming a forward.

During the match, Ashito, who was playing in the new position, suddenly saw the field with a new perspective. He noted how the field seemed bigger than before and Tachibana was far away.

He decided it was not the time for defense and started pushing up. His teammates were confused as Ashito advanced toward the opponents because he was asked to hold his position.

Ashito's teammates reminded him the forward players were already pushing up and if he loses his position, it can cost them the match.

"While still feeling unconvinced, Ashito makes up his mind that he must try and learn to be a full-back. He goes to practice, wanting to figure out Fukuda's intention. However, being unfamiliar to the position and disliking defending, Ashito doesn't quite get the meaning of "shuffle" and feels out of place," read the official synopsis of Episode 15, as per Crunchyroll.

The anime is based on the original work by Yugo Kobayashi. Its opening theme, "Mushin Hakusu," is performed by Alexandros, while the closing theme song, titled "Blue Diary," is by Rinne.

"Aoashi" Episode 16 is scheduled to release Saturday. Fans in the U.S. can tune into Crunchyroll to live stream the latest episode. The new episode will stream in Japanese with English subtitles.
