Arnold Schwarzenegger Wants 'Universal Condemnation' For Trump's 'Stupid, Crazy And Evil' Actions

Former California Gov. and Arnold Schwarzenegger on Tuesday urged political leaders to go through “universal condemnation” for President Donald Trump’s “stupid, crazy and evil” actions.

In an op-ed published Tuesday in the Economist, the actor and ex-Mr. Olympia blasted Trump for attempting to destroy the integrity of the elections. He also called out those who have supported the president’s baseless claims of voter fraud and efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 election.

“Many just went along step by step down the road toward greater and greater evil because it was the easiest path,” Schwarzenegger wrote. “President Donald Trump’s actions to destroy faith in our elections and throw centuries of American principles out the window must be met with universal condemnation from all political leaders, regardless of party.”

“There is no question about who won the presidential election and continuing this charade is stupid, crazy and evil,” he added.

The op-ed came just days after an audio recording of Trump’s phone call with Georgia’s Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger revealed that the president demanded that the election official “find 11,780 votes” for him to win the state.

“I just want to find 11,780 votes, which is one more than we have. Because we won the state. We have won the election in Georgia based on all of this,” Trump said during the hour-long phone call.

Trump went on to say, “So what are going to do here, folks? I only need 11,000 votes. Fellas, I need 11,000 votes. Give me a break.”

The president offered several false claims of widespread election fraud during the phone call, including allegations that officials in Fulton County shredded ballots. The claims were dismissed by Raffensperger as well as his legal counsel, Ryan Germany.

And in a response on Twitter, Raffensperger wrote: “Respectfully, President Trump: What you’re saying is not true. The truth will come out.”

Former Gov. Schwarzenneger slammed Trump’s attempt to pressure the Georgia officials to overturn the results, and celebrated Raffensperger’s heroic act.

“President Trump’s request in a leaked phone recording to Georgia’s secretary of state, Brad Raffensperger, to 'find 11,780 votes' is a low point in American history,” the actor wrote.

“If I hadn’t already given Mr. Raffensperger a Democracy Action Hero award last month —which my institute at the University of Southern California hands out to recognize officials who protect American values — I’d be scrambling to honor him now. He is a true hero for standing up to this un-American bullshit,” he added.

Schwarzenegger's disdain for Trump's political behavior is nothing new. In October 2016, he tweeted that, “For the first time since I became a citizen in 1983, I will not vote for the Republican candidate for president.”
