During its run, “Arrow” has become a decided hit amongst fans that can’t wait to see how the Season 3 cliffhanger finally plays out. With the highly anticipated premiere rapidly approaching, the CW has released a teaser poster for the show featuring Oliver Queen’s exciting new costume.

It’s worth mentioning at the top that the image of star Stephen Amell isn’t new to anyone that paid attention to the show’s San Diego Comic-Con panel this year. According to IGN, the armor photo debuted at Comic-Con, giving fans a look at the character finally dressed as a realistic superhero for the first time on the hit series. The costume is sleeveless except for some bracers and features a lot of the same green leather material that was on the old costume, only this time it’s outfitted with a lot more armor.

The image comes with the tagline “Aim. Higher,” meaning that the hero will not only be returning to the costumed vigilante game in Season 4, but will be doing so with somehow higher stakes this time around. According to ScreenRant, the new superhero costume was designed by Maya Mani, who designs a lot of the looks for heroes on the CW’s connected franchise, including “Arrow,” “The Flash” and the upcoming “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.” As IGN notes in another report, the new threads are much more in line with the recent DC comic book, New 52, in which the hero’s origins are re-examined for a modern, more comic-aware audience.

When fans last left Oliver Queen in the Season 3 finale he was finally free from the rule of Ra’s al Ghul (Matt Nable) and the dreaded League of Assassins. Unfortunately, in order to do so, it required the public outing of the Arrow – forcing another character to take the fall and leaving Oliver free to do whatever he wanted to. Rather than adopt a new hero moniker, Oliver takes an even more drastic step by hanging up his bow and arrow for good and riding off into the sunset with Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards).

Unfortunately, fans will be kept in the dark as to how Oliver, finally going by the name Green Arrow according to CinemaBlend, will return to his life as a superhero and what challenges will face him when he does. Fortunately, the wait for answers is drawing to a close as “Arrow” Season 4 is scheduled to premiere on Oct. 7 at 8 p.m. EDT.
