“Arrow” Season 4 has at last reached its climactic final episode, and the stakes couldn’t be higher. Episode 23, titled “Schism,” will focus on a villain who no longer has anything to lose, which means he’s at his most dangerous.

With his safe haven destroyed, his wife dead and his daughter missing, Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough) appears to be making good on his plan to regain control of the world’s nuclear stockpile after losing it in the latest episode. He was last seen at Felicity’s (Emily Bett Rickards) apartment, presumably to demand she give him power over the Rubicon system that controls the nukes.

It’s unclear how the Green Arrow (Stephen Amell) will attempt to thwart Darhk’s new evil plan, but the episode’s short-but-sweet plot synopsis from the CW indicates he’ll enlist the help of a surprising force to stop the magical villain in his tracks. However, it yields no clues as to what exactly that force may be.

Fans searching for hints will have to turn to the episode’s teaser trailer, which seems to indicate Darhk is able to get more missiles in the air destined for Star City, sending its population into a blind panic. However, thanks to some inspiring words from former mayoral candidate Oliver Queen, the city’s residents rally around the Green Arrow and stand with him as they finally confront a fully superpowered Darhk in the streets.

This season opened with the hero sending a message to the population of Star City that he would stand with them as a beacon of hope when times are darkest and the criminal element believes it has won. Now, it looks like he’ll be able to make good on that promise while winning the favor of the people of the city. The only question now is whether the combined forces of Team Arrow and Star City will even be enough to stop Darhk and his master plan to drop nuclear weapons on the city. He wants to wipe it off the map to give him the magical power he needs to conquer whatever parts of the world are left standing.

The climactic finale of “Arrow” Season 4 airs on the CW Wednesday, May 25, at 8 p.m. EDT. Check out the teaser trailer and then comment below or tweet your thoughts on the “Arrow” finale to @TylerMcCarthy.
