Austin Butler, who portrayed legendary singer Elvis Presley in the highly anticipated musical drama "Elvis," danced with host Jimmy Fallon on his late-night show Thursday.

The 30-year-old actor also did impressions of Presley as he taught Fallon a famous dance step. The audience couldn't stop clapping when Butler and Fallon went on to do the dance move together. Butler explained that the late singer nicknamed this dance move "the sidewinder."

"This is from the '50s. He had this one that was really fun," Butler said on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon." "I just called it the sidewinder because you can go from walking into a side [motion]."

The actor also spoke about the late singer, who was popularly known as King of Rock. Presley died at the age of 42 in 1977.

"Elvis didn't do choreography in the way that Michael [Jackson] did," Butler shared. "It was all the music moving him. Obviously, there are signature things that he did that you have to be specific about, but it was all about the way that the music moved him."

After a portion of the interview was shared on Youtube, many fans commented that Butler was "pretty cool" and had a "raspy voice."

Another fan added, "A lot of people say that he's 'faking his voice' or 'trying to sound like Elvis' but what y'all have to understand is that he put his everything into this role for about 3 almost 4 years and literally studied Elvis from top to bottom."

In a separate interview, Butler explained why some fans think were criticizing his voice and his way of speaking.

"I didn't do anything else for two years, that's such a large chunk of life. I’m not surprised that it clicks in," Butler told Elle last week. "You spend so much time obsessing about one thing, and it really is like muscular habits, your mouth can change. It's pretty amazing. I know that I'm constantly changing."

"Elvis" will hit the theaters on June 24. Actress Olivia DeJonge will be seen playing Presley's wife, Priscilla. Tom Hanks plays Presley's manager Colonel Tom Parker in the movie. It also includes Dacre Montgomery, Luke Bracey, YolaMaggie Gyllenhaal and Rufus Sewell.
