Although Clare Crawley and Dale Moss broke up, the statement the former NFL player released announcing the split wasn’t as amicable as it appeared to be, according to the 39-year-old “Bachelorette” alum.

On Thursday, Crawley shared a post on Instagram revealing she was not informed about Moss’ plans to release what appeared to be a joint statement about their break up.

“I was made aware of a ‘mutual’ statement at the same time you all were, so I’ve needed some time to really digest this,” the post read.

“Speaking for myself, my intentions with this relationship have always been very clear, so the truth is I am crushed. This was not what I expected or hoped for and am still trying to process this.”

Crawley revealed she has had a tough year due to the coronavirus pandemic, her public relationship with Moss, and the death of her mother.

However, the reality star hasn’t given up on finding love. “It hasn’t been ideal circumstances, but that is life right. I have been looking forward to the light at the end of the tunnel,” she stated.

“Our relationship was not perfect, but I can say that I was genuinely invested with all of my heart. I may not have the answers, but I do know this — I will continue to show up, stand by my word, and be committed to love. XO Clare.”

Moss shared news of the breakup Tuesday on his Instagram Story. “I wanted [to] share with you all that Clare and I have decided to go our separate ways,” he wrote.

“We appreciate the love and support we’ve received from so many people, but this is the healthiest decision for both of us at this time.”

Moss’ statement went on to suggest the split was amicable. “We strongly believe in leading with love and always remaining true to oneself — something our families have taught and instilled in us throughout our lives. We only hope the best things for one another,” he continued.

Moss’ statement isn’t the only issue Crawley has had with her former fiancé. A source told E! News Crawley believes Moss cheated on her throughout their engagement.

Moss has been allegedly communicating with a woman since late 2019 but told Crawley their relationship is strictly business. “Clare has always been skeptical,” the source explained.

“She never trusted the friendship and thought it was shady,” the insider added.

Crawley and Moss reportedly drifted further apart when the 32-year-old appeared focused on his fame rather than their relationship, which left Crawley “heartbroken.”
