Bandai Namco President Mitsuaki Taguchi has revealed that they are releasing three Nintendo Switch-exclusive games in the near future. He did not disclose the specific details about the new games, but he did say that the titles are due for spring to summer 2018.

When Bandai Namco had a financial briefing recently, Taguchi grabbed the opportunity to announce that the company is adding more resources in developing Switch games. The company is reportedly planning to boost games for Switch in the year that would commence in April 2018, as per Gematsu.

Bandai Namco has scheduled the three big Switch exclusives for release from spring to summer of next year. Taguchi has implied that their plan of developing three new titles for the Nintendo Switch console stems from the success of the system. “We have put 3 games on the Switch so far and all of them are doing well. It’s a shame, but we didn’t think the Switch [would] be accepted this fast,” Taguchi was quoted as saying by The Wall Street Journal’s Takashi Mochizuki.

On Twitter, some fans have voiced their suggestions for the games that Bandai Namco should be launching on the Nintendo Switch. There are those who are hoping for a new “Ridge Racer,” since they claim that the hybrid console is very ideal for the car racing video game. Other suggested games include: “Dragon Ball FighterZ,” “Dark Souls,” “Tekken,” and “Tales,” among others.

Bandai Namco’s decision to create more Switch games is not surprising at all. Destructoid reports this is actually the song being sung by more and more third-party developers now that the Switch has achieved success. Many were at first hesitant to produce titles for Nintendo’s hybrid console, but the money-making capacity of the gaming machine has definitely changed their minds.

Nintendo has sold 8 million Switch units worldwide thus far, and the company aims to sell 14 million units by the time the gaming machine turns one year old. If this happens, Engadget says the Switch would easily beat its predecessor’s record. Apparently, Nintendo sold 13.56 million Wii U units during the device’s five-year lifetime.

“The Nintendo Switch system itself is made from a huge number of components, and weʼve made urgent requests to many of our contract manufacturer to ramp up production, with some of them even installing additional production lines. We released yesterdayʼs upwardly revised full-year hardware shipment target of 14 million units because we now project that we are capable of shipping that many units,” Nintendo President Tatsumi Kimishima said, according to TweakTown.

“This 14-million-unit shipping target for the full year means that we plan to ship roughly 10 million units just in the second half of this fiscal year, and production at this pace would manufacture even more than that,” Kimishima added. “I think we are ready and able to deliver Nintendo Switch to our many consumers around the world this holiday season.”

Aside from the Switch exclusives, Bandai Namco still plans to continue making more games for other platforms. With plenty of development resources available, the video game company is looking to put out more games for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
