Mayim Bialik seems excited for her "The Big Bang Theory" character Amy to explore life without Sheldon (Jim Parsons) after the two lovebirds called it quits in the Season 9 premiere. Now that Amy is single, Bialik teased that fans could see her character connecting with a few other guys on the CBS comedy.

"We actually have some very interesting stuff coming up in that arena," Bialik told E! Online.

Without giving away too many spoilers, the 39-year-old actress said some people want her character to date someone completely opposite of Sheldon. “Some people think we should go super hunky, really against type of what Sheldon is and from what we think of Amy," Bialik said. "But part of me also feels like it’s OK to keep it a little bit real in that someone like Amy probably would pursue someone -- not that attractive people can’t be intellectual -- but pursue someone in her field, who generally speaking, might not be that concerned with appearance.”

As for who Sheldon should link up with, Bialik suggested the theoretical physicist might be compatible with someone like newly married Penny (Kaley Cuoco) or Bernadette (Melissa Rauch).

As previously reported, Sheldon has been trying to win back Amy but it doesn't seem to be working. In Season 9, episode 2 of "The Big Bang Theory," he launched a web series called "Fun with Flags" to talk about his breakup, but ended up dissing his ex.

In next week's episode 3, Amy decides it's time to move on and tells Penny and Bernadette she wants a makeover to help her deal with the breakup. Watch the video below to see Bialik discuss Amy and Sheldon's future on "The Big Bang Theory."

"The Big Bang Theory" airs Mondays at 8 p.m. EDT on CBS.
