Less than a week after the announcement of his new sports website, the Ringer, former Grantland editor-in-chief and ex-ESPN star Bill Simmons now has a new business partner -- Medium, according a report Monday night from Business Insider. Simmons would reportedly be the highest-profile content creator Medium has partnered with to date.

Medium, a blog platform run by former Twitter CEO Evan Williams, has funded and hosted some original publications, including tech site Backchannel. Simmons' prior site, Grantland, focused on long-form content, similar to the type that Medium generally hosts.

In an interview with Sports Illustrated, the Ringer’s editor-in-chief, Sean Fennessey, explained that the site, slated to launch in late spring or early summer, will start with an email newsletter and podcasts, as well as an HBO talk show Simmons recently agreed to do. It will also add more features and expand its coverage to include topics beyond just sports, like food.
