'Black Clover' Unveils Lucius' Soul Magic And True Human Form

It is just the beginning of the final arc of the "Black Clover" manga and creator Yuki Tabata has already pitted Asta against one of the most formidable Zogratis siblings – Lucius.

After the conclusion of the Spade Kingdom Raid arc, it was clear that the heroes had to be careful because the fourth Zogratis was still inside the Spade Kingdom.

The early chapters of the manga introduced Lucius as he appeared before Asta and revealed his true intentions. Moreover, Lucius has also revealed his terrifying new form, which may appear divine but it definitely is pure evil.

Along with his true human form, Lucius has also unleashed Soul Magic to possess Lily Aquaria.

Soul Magic allows Lucius to manipulate his soul and that of others. Since, the soul is the essence of life, magic power and spirit, Lucius can use this spell to alter the soul and manipulate the key traits of a person.

However, to use this spell, the user needs to physically touch the target. Meanwhile, the Soul Magic appears to be ineffective against someone who has Anti Magic.

In "Black Clover" Chapter 334, Asta and Liebe focused on their right arm to extend the Devil Union's usage time to 10 minutes. Asta lunged at Lucius with his Demon-Slasher Katana but the latter teleported himself to avoid the attack.

Later, Lucius declared that Asta's Anti Magic ability was a threat to world peace. He revealed he was born into a devil family but found a way to purify devil power and transform it into a divine one for humans.

The chapter showcased his new form – his forehead mark turned from black to white. Even his body was surrounded by some kind of holy aura.

"Young Asta was born with no magic ability in a world where magic is everything. In order to prove his strength and keep a promise with his friend, Asta dreams of becoming the greatest mage in the land, the Wizard King!" the official synopsis of the series read, according to Manga Plus.

"Black Clover" Chapter 335 is scheduled to release this Sunday. The chapter will be available online on Viz's Shonen Jump and Manga Plus.
