Pre-production work of “Black Panther 2” hasn’t even started, and the fans already know who they want to see as the next villain. There is one character that became T’Challa’s arch nemesis in the comics, and there is a good chance that the character will transition to the big screen soon.

Namor the Sub-Mariner is a name comic book fans will be familiar with. Marvel fans have been talking about how this character could be the next big villain of the sequel, The Washington Post reported.

In a way, the “Avengers: Endgame” movie set things up for the villain’s eventual arrival. In the film, Okoye (Dannai Gurira) was monitoring earthquakes in the ocean floor. In the comics, Namor the Sub-Mariner was a member of the Atlantean royal family, and the fans may soon find the character spreading chaos in the sea.

The interest in Namor is so strong that some fans even have the name of the actor who should play the role in “Black Panther 2.” Keanu Reeves has emerged as the fan favourite to play this role, and one fan went to the extent of drawing the actor as the villain to see what he could look like in the film.

The introduction of Namor in the sequel will also connect to the previous villain Killmonger (Michael B. Jordan), who wanted to be buried at sea. Will a zombie version of the character return? There is also a chance of seeing the dead character as being a part of the spiritual place known as the ancestral plane.

Details about the next villain can only be confirmed after the script of “Black Panther 2” is ready. It remains to be seen if this is the film in which Reeves will join the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Kevin Feige has already confirmed that they are keen to cast the “John Wick” actor, Screen Rant reported.
