The “Black Widow” special look showed us previously unseen things from the movie, enlightening us on some of the bigger plot details. But what nobody was expecting was the image of what looks like Pym Particles being held by Natasha Romanoff herself. The imagery just might change everything we know about the “Black Widow” movie.

The screenshot from the “Black Widow” special look trailer shows Romanoff speaking to Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh), which the trailer spent the most time focusing on, but a close up of her hand revealed that Scarlett Johansson’s super-assassin character is holding something red and glowing.

Many fans on Twitter have pointed out that it resembles a bundle of Pym particles that were used in “Avengers: Endgame” to travel back in time. One of the ongoing discussions of the “Black Widow” movie is about where it takes place in the overall timeline and if it involves time travel at all.

When we last saw Romanoff, she was lying dead on Vormir after sacrificing herself so Clint Barton/Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) could take home the Soul Stone. If the time travel theory is correct, there is only one moment she could have pulled it off: somewhere between the top of the cliff and the bottom.

The theory goes that Black Widow, as she was falling to her death on Vormir, could have traveled back in time to revisit important moments of her life -- Something akin to her life flashing before her eyes. Since she only had enough Pym particles for one round trip, as we learned in “Avengers: Endgame,” her first stop would have to be picking up more Pym particles. She could have stolen them from the Avengers themselves or straight from the lab of Hank Pym (Michael Douglas). Then she sets off on her time adventure, once she finds out her family is in need of her help.

Some have pointed out that the colors look a lot like the projectiles Black Widow fires out at some baddies. The little red containers could be some kind of refill or ammunition for her Widow's Bite.

Others have questioned whether they were seeing an Infinity Stone. From the looks of it, it would be the reality stone, or aether, if this is true. Though it’s entirely uncertain how this would tie into the more spy-espionage type of film.

Whether the mysterious red object is a bundle of Pym particles, ammunition for Black Widow’s new “spider bite” gauntlet, Russian super-soldier serum, or an actual Infinity Stone, we’ll have to wait and see when the movie comes out on May 1.
