Blake Shelton has released a behind-the-scenes clip for his new hit song, “God’s Country.” Even before the song was released to the fans, the singer and his team knew it was hit after they got compliments from Warner Music Nashville chairman and CEO John Esposito.

The behind-the-scenes video that Shelton shared on his Instagram page shows the singer recording the song and having fun with the team while doing it. The team knew right there in the studio that they have created a hit song when Esposito called in to congratulate them.

After listening to the song for the fifth time, Esposito called Shelton and his team, and he was put on loud speaker to make sure everyone in the studio heard him. “Jesus…god…this is…brilliant…everything,” Esposito told everyone, as the singer laughed out loud with his team.

Esposito not only loved the song, but he also said that it was “game changing.” The Warner Music Nashville boss complemented the singer for singing at “another level” and the team for producing a song at another level.

Shelton has released the full behind-the-scenes video on YouTube. In the full version of the video, the country singer said that he was on his land in Oklahoma when he first received the song from producer Scott Hendricks, and he immediately felt a connection with it.

“The song was talking to me about a place that I was in at that moment,” Shelton said. The country singer owns a ranch in Oklahoma, which he said is in the middle of nowhere but it meant something to him.

People around Shelton may not understand what that ranch means to him, but the song “God’s Country” was able to articulate what he was feeling inside, according to the singer. Right in that moment he realized that he had to record that song, and he knew that this is the song he has to share with his fans next.

Shelton released the official video of the song “God’s Country” on YouTube last week. The video has nearly 3 million views as of this writing.
