Bill was successfully blackmailed by his son into giving him control of his company, and now, his decision to let Liam take over will be questioned on the Friday, Sept. 8 episode of "The Bold and the Beautiful."

Liam (Scott Clifton) secretly recorded Bill (Don Diamont) admitting to having the fire set at Spectra, so he could successfully blackmail him into giving him the CEO position of Spencer Publications. He warned Bill that if he did not comply on the CBS soap, he would go to the police with the recording and turn him in for his crimes. Now, knowing he has no choice but to give in, Bill has conceded, and will now go home to Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) to tell her he is stepping down from his company temporarily. However, his decision will cause his wife to question what's really going on, because she knows he wouldn't willingly hand over the reigns.

"Why do you need to hand the company over to Liam?" She questions in a preview clip.

Bill likely won't confess to her what he's done recently in the hopes of building his new tower, though he will cryptically hint at Liam trying to pull rank and blackmail him by commenting that playing by the rules doesn't always work.

"You don't get ahead by playing by the rules," he says. "You make the rules."

Meanwhile, Liam's actions will also be questioned by his own wife, Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood), who while she said she didn't condone Bill's actions, was worried that Liam's power trip would cause irreparable damage to his relationship with his father.

Bill's (Don Diamont) decision to hand Spencer over to Liam (Scott Clifton) will be questioned on the Sept. 8, 2017 episode of "The Bold and the Beautiful." CBS

Now, after she learns that he did in fact successfully blackmail his father, she will tell him that while she knows his running the company is a good thing for Spencer Publications' future, she will once again reiterate her point that that she thinks it's a mistake because of what it means for his family.

"I know that you can make this company better under your leadership," she says in the clip.

"Is there a but coming?" Liam asks.

"Yeah, there's a but," she admits. "I don't care about this company right now, I care about you and your father. The effect that this will have on your relationship."

However, Liam will maintain that he isn't worried, nor does he care about what effect this will have on his relationship with his father, because he's sick of Bill continually committing crimes to get what he wants and getting away with it. Unfortunately for him though, this plot could still also backfire on him, because if the truth about Bill ordering the Spectra fire ever does get out, then there is a bigger chance that he would also go down for the crime, since he learned about it, and instead of turning himself in, used the information to blackmail his dad instead.

"The Bold and the Beautiful" airs weekdays at 1:30 p.m. EDT on CBS.
