Bold Type finale

“The Bold Type” Season 1 is coming to an end, but the Freeform drama will go out on a high note. In an emotional finale, the three women will face some exciting challenges at work, as usual. However, they’re all facing big changes in their lives too.

Jane (Katie Stevens) has trouble quitting. It isn’t easy to leave your dream job, but with Incite offering her everything she wants, Jane has to leave. Expect her to take her time telling Jacqueline (Melora Hardin), though.

Jane’s last piece is important. For her final article before leaving Scarlet, Jane is writing a story she pitched when she started. She writes about a rape survivor (Ana Kayne) who stands in the park carrying the scales of justice. She waits for other survivors to take a turn carrying the props in the “Bold Type” finale, aptly titled “Carry The Weight.” Jacqueline will be extra tough on Jane to make sure she gets this story right.

Kat (Aisha Dee) buries herself in work. With New York Fashion Week approaching and Scarlet’s Twitter account nearing 2 million followers, Kat has plenty to keep herself distracted. In a new sneak-peek video, she tries to convince Sutton (Meghann Fahy) and Jane that having followers is what’s most important. “I can do so much with that — so much more than I could wandering around some foreign country without even so much as a change of underwear,” Kat claims.

Watch the finale video below:

Kat hasn’t gotten over Adena (Nikohl Boosheri). She didn’t actually get on a plane with her new love last week, but Kat still has some strong feelings. That front she’s putting up for her friends won’t last long. With Adena gone, Kat will be moping while planning a fancy fashion week party for Scarlet.

Sutton and Richard (Sam Page) are forced to see each other at work. The fashion assistant must work with her ex during an important meeting, and you can’t even imagine just how awkward it will be.

Alex (Matt Ward) won’t let it get awkward. In a sneak-peek video from “The Bold Type” season finale, Sutton and Alex see each other for the first time since their hook up. Though Sutton dodges the subject (despite claiming she was so “emotionally mature” in the clip above), Alex will take a much more direct approach. Watch the video below:

Their relationship might be doomed, though. Fahy told Entertainment Weekly that the characters know this isn’t true love. “I think she knows that they would never work and her heart is really somewhere else,” Fahy said. “I think he probably knows that too on some level.”

After Tuesday’s finale, the fate of “The Bold Type” is unknown. According to TV Series Finale, it’s the lowest-rated show on the network. However, the reviews for the show are stellar. With any luck, Freeform will give the drama another season to let it find a bigger audience.

“The Bold Type” Season 1, episode 10, the season finale, will air Tuesday at 9 p.m. EDT on Freeform.
