Whether or not you’ve been seeing your boss in person or on the other side of a video conference call, you may have a boss that you like working for and you want to celebrate, then today is the day to show them how much you care.

Today is National Boss’s Day, according to the National Day Calendar, and is celebrated by employees who wish to thank their boss and show appreciation for their fair and kind practices throughout the year. The holiday started in 1958 when State Farm Insurance employee Patricia Bays Haroski registered it and selected October 16 as the date to coincide with her father’s (who happened to also be her boss) birthday.

While your boss may not be literal family, if you want to give them a celebratory greeting, virtually or in person, make sure to share one of these quotes or jokes, compliments of BrainyQuote, GoodReads, Psychology Today and Wise Old Sayings.
