A Boston anesthesiologist was arrested Friday for his alleged participation in a child sex trafficking ring.

Sadeq Quraishi, an anesthesiologist at Tufts Medical Center, is charged with attempted sex trafficking of a child after allegedly agreeing to pay $250 to have sex with an imaginary underage girl online, said WFXT Boston.

According to court documents, Quraishi had interacted with an online ad showing what appeared to be two 18-year-old females who were "travelin' thru town on a lil road trip!" He then allegedly started texting the females, an actual undercover officer, who admitted they were 12 and 14 years old and available for sex in exchange for money.

Quraishi then allegedly agreed to pay $250 to have sex with one of the girls, according to an officer from Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations department.

After exchanging the texts, Quraishi arrived at a hotel where he met with an undercover officer and allegedly paid $250 for a hotel key. He was then arrested.

Tufts Medical Center has suspended Quraishi and placed him on leave. The Boston hospital said in a statement, "As we have learned more information regarding the disturbing allegations made against Dr. Quraishi, we have made the decision to end his employment, effective immediately."
