  • Activision is working on a new "Call of Duty" title
  • The game's announcement date and details were recently leaked online
  • "Call of Duty 2021" official title was also leaked previously

Activision earlier confirmed that it is working on a new "Call of Duty" title, and while it did not provide any more details about the game, fans of the upcoming title might be up for more information since a reliable industry insider recently shared some more information about "Call of Duty 2021," including its potential announcement.

The latest information about "Call of Duty 2021" came from industry insider Tom Henderson (via ComicBook ), who shared on Twitter that Activision is not going to reveal the game until later in the Summer of this year. According to Henderson, the official announcement might happen around mid-year. Aside from the reveal window, the insider also shared that the announcement will happen within "Call of Duty: Warzone."

Henderson further went into details, saying that he believes that the official announcement could happen August this year. In the tweet, he said that "we're a while away from a reveal yet, best guess is probably August to coincide with the Black Ops Cold War reveal." Activision used "Warzone" to roll out the official announcement trailer of "Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War."

While the trailer was also released online, the "Warzone" in-game event revealed the new title, which quickly built hype and surged players' engagement. The same could happen when "Call of Duty 2021" launches, according to Henderson. Aside from the announcement date and details, the insider previously teased about the game's potential title.

In a previous tweet via Gamerant, Henderson teased that "Call of Duty 2021" could be called "Call of Duty: Guerilla Warfare." The title, if accurate, offers fans a better idea of what to expect in the game. However, fans should take this information with a pinch of salt since Henderson did not outrightly say that this will be the upcoming game's official title.

So far, fans know that Sledgehammer Games would handle the game's development. But if Sledgehammer Games is at the helm of the upcoming title's development, it is hard to tell what "Call of Duty 2021" would be like since the studio was behind "Call of Duty: WWII" and partially "Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War."
