Activision has not yet officially released its latest installment in the popular “COD” franchise, but a new leak surfaced recently claiming that “Call of Duty 2021” is most likely going to be a “Modern Warfare 2” remake of some sort.

The latest information about the next “Call of Duty” title came from the industry insider and Viral Junkie owner and CEO Tom Henderson. On Twitter, Henderson mentioned that the game would have a modern-day setting. This leak is first alleged details about “Call of Duty 2021.”

Granting that the leak is accurate, then the next “Call of Duty” installment would be handled by Infinity Ward. Henderson is a reliable “COD” insider and has always provided accurate leaks in the past. However, even if true, it is still a long way to go and changes could still happen.

In other “Call of Duty” news, Activision is now preparing for the official release of “Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.” The game is set to arrive in November on various gaming platforms including the next-generation gaming consoles and PC. Activision announced at its recent third-quarter earnings call that the first “Warzone” season of “Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War” season would begin in December.

The gaming studio shared how the game would work with the battle royale spin-off “Call of Duty: Warzone.” Although “Black Ops Cold War” launches on Nov. 13 its first multiplayer season would start in December. The start of the game’s first season would be the first time it would have a significant impact in “Warzone,” according to Activision.

It is not yet clear what kind of impact or influence the season would be bringing to “Warzone.” Some fans think it could be some sort of map changes, but it was hinted earlier that it would bring the first battle pass for “Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.” Weapons available to Cold War will also be available on “Call of Duty: Warzone.”

Aside from that, “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare” players would be able to use the game’s weapon or those they have earned up to 55 levels in “Black Ops Cold War.” They could also switch between custom loadouts from “Warzone” and “Black Ops Cold War.”
