Camila Cabello has revealed she felt empowered after hitting back at body shamers on social media.

In a recent interview with Bustle, the "Cinderella" star shared her thoughts about how being body-shamed has taught her to embrace her insecurities and just celebrate her body for what it is.

After being criticized for her body in June, Cabello clapped back at her bashers by addressing their criticism in a now-viral TikTok video.

"I actually felt so liberated when I posted that," she told the outlet. "After that, I went to the airport and so many women were coming up to me like, 'I saw that TikTok and it resonated with me so much.' I actually feel my body insecurities went down after I posted that because I was like, 'No matter what pictures come out or what people say, I'm now controlling the narrative.'"

"You can work out a few hours a day and never eat carbs and whatever, but that's just not a balanced life," she continued. "That's not what I want… I can't change to fit that mold. I'm going to wear whatever, and if there's paparazzi around, that sucks, but I'm not going to completely reroute who I am for that."

Cabello made headlines back in June after photos of her enjoying a beach day in Miami with boyfriend Shawn Mendes surfaced online. At that time, Cabello did not escape eagle-eyed body shamers, who made negative comments about her body in a bikini.

In July, Cabello posted a TikTok video of herself sitting inside her car, sharing a powerful message about loving her imperfections and being grateful for her body and flaws.

"I was just running in the park, minding my own business trying to be fit, trying to keep it healthy," she said in the video. "And I am wearing a top that shows my belly, and I wasn't tucking it in. Because I was running and existing like a normal person that doesn't tuck it in all the time."

"I am grateful for this body that lets me do what I need to do. We are real women with curves and cellulite and stretch marks and fat. And we gotta own that, baby," she concluded.
