The holiday season may be a lot less traditional than years past because of the coronavirus pandemic, but at least one performer will be trying to bring the holiday spirit back into homes with a special programming event.

Carrie Underwood, who will be releasing her first Christmas album, “My Gift,” on Sept. 25, will be doing a holiday event featuring the songs from her album for a special that will stream on HBO Max, the streamer announced in a press release. Specifics about the special were not revealed, but it will reportedly feature the country music star performing both traditional holiday songs and ones from her album with the accompaniment of a live orchestra and choir. The special is set to film this fall, and a premiere date has yet to be revealed.

While details have not yet been revealed for the special, Underwood could sing any of the songs that are on the tracklist for her new album. Traditional songs will include “Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee,” “O Come All Ye Faithful,” “O Holy Night,” “Away In A Manger” and “Silent Night.” Other tracks will include “Let There Be Peace,” “Sweet Baby Jesus,” “Mary, Did You Know?” and “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas.”

It’s unclear if Isaiah Fisher, who is featured on the “Little Drummer Boy” track and John Legend, who is featured on the song “Hallelujah,” will play any role in the special.

Underwood’s special is just the latest holiday programming to be announced. Both Lifetime and Hallmark have also announced plans to once again air their 24/7 Christmas movie marathons beginning Oct. 23. Lifetime’s “It’s A Wonderful Lifetime” will feature 30 new premieres throughout the event, which runs until the weekend before Christmas. Hallmark’s dual “Countdown to Christmas” and “Miracles of Christmas” events on Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movies and Mysteries will feature 40 new films.
