Angelina Jolie was reportedly strapped for cash, so she gave her children to ex-husband Brad Pitt.

According to National Enquirer, the “Maleficent” actress has financial issues, so she handed her six children over to Pitt after a three-year custody battle. The publication’s unnamed source alleged that Jolie made the bold move due to work commitments, too.

“Angelina is really strapped for cash right now and that’s worked to Brad’s advantage,” the source said.

“She’s taken this next movie [‘The Eternals’], which will be shooting in the U.K. during the summer. That’s why she’s letting the kids stay with Brad in L.A. while she makes the big bucks in Europe.”

One should take the report with a grain of salt because according to Celebrity Net Worth, Jolie has a net worth of $100 million, so it’s unlikely she would be “cash-strapped.” It’s also unlikely for Jolie to just give away her children. She loves them and is often seen with them. Also, following her split from Pitt, she filed for sole custody over her six children.

It was only in November 2018, two years after their split, when the pair agreed to have joint physical and legal custody over their children.

“Over a period of the next six to eight weeks, the monitored visits will come to a conclusion. The children will immediately begin to have overnight visits with their father,” an insider told Us Weekly.

“The monitors will be in place for those first overnight visits, and this was done at Brad’s request. Brad recognizes this is going to be a change from what the norm had been and wants to make the transition as smooth as possible.”

Last month, another report said that Jolie reached out to Pitt to look after their kids this summer because she would be away most of the time. The actress is busy filming her thriller film “Those Who Wish Me Dead.” Jolie’s action had nothing to do with her finances. Meanwhile, Pitt was reportedly happy that he was given the chance to spend more time with their children.

“It feels like a really positive move all round and Brad is over the moon. He’s invited his parents, Jane and William, to stay with them at his mansion in LA so they can have some proper family time together,” the source said.
