Through 11 episodes of “The Challenge: Total Madness,” almost half of the cast has been eliminated. Several contestants, including two reigning champions, have qualified for the chance to win Season 35 of the MTV reality-TV series.

This season of “The Challenge” is unique in that players only become eligible to run the Final by earning a red skull, which has to be won in elimination. It’s forced cast members to volunteer themselves as participants in Purgatory—the elimination round—out of fear that they might run out of time to get a skull.

Johnny “Bananas” Devenanzio was the last male cast member to join the list of potential winners. The six-time “Challenge” champion defeated Wes Bergmann in one of the most memorable eliminations in recent years.

Rookie Faysal “Fessy” Shafaat and Rogan O’Connor have also earned red skulls. Fessy eliminated Jordan Wiseley, who had won three consecutive championships. Rogan is one of two remaining “Total Madness” contestants that won the title last season.

Nelson Thomas eliminated Stephen Bear to earn his red skull.

Rogan and Dee Nguyen were among the four first-place winners on “War of the Worlds 2,” which aired in the second half of 2019. Dee already had a red skull and eliminated Mattie Lynn Breaux in the most recent “Total Madness” episode.

Aneesa Ferreira, Jenny West and Kaycee Clark are the other three female cast members that have won in elimination and are eligible to run the Final.

Every veteran that is still looking for a red skull (Melissa Reeves, Nany Gonzalez, Josh Martinez, Kyle Christie and Cory Wharton) has never won a “Challenge” championship. Christopher “Swaggy C” Williams and Bayleigh Dayton are the only rookies in the house that need an elimination victory.

It’s unknown how many first-place finishers there will be on “Total Madness.” The cast members that reach the Final will compete for their share of $1 million.
