“Two and a Half Men” alum Charlie Sheen is at the center of speculation after the National Enquirer published a report that the 50-year-old actor is HIV positive. Although Sheen has yet to comment on the allegations, his ex-wife Brooke Mueller reportedly knew about the diagnosis.

The report comes from the National Enquirer’s sister site, Radar Online. According to the outlet, they obtained texts from Mueller, 38, that allegedly confirm that Sheen has the human immunodeficiency virus HIV, the agent of the AIDS disease.

“I had a drug-induced psychotic break at Charlie’s after doing drugs with Charlie for that many days. I couldn’t handle the HIV news. Just six months ago I was diagnosed with the eye disease and then Charlie potentially giving me HIV …” one text reportedly said.

Sheen and Mueller got married on May 30, 2008, and their twin sons Bob and Max were born in 2009. The following year Sheen filed for divorce, and it was finalized in 2011.

Rumors of an HIV positive “Hollywood playboy” circulated last week. Although Sheen, 50, has yet to comment on the allegations, he will appear on NBC’s “Today” show Tuesday morning for a sit-down interview with Matt Lauer in which the actor will “make a revealing personal announcement,” sais a statement form the show. However, Hollywood publicist and crisis manager Howard Bragman confirmed to People magazine that the interview will be to discuss being HIV positive.

“The interview could open up a lot of sympathy for him, but he has to be concerned about a fear of litigation from former sexual partners,” Bragman told the outlet. “You don’t take that lightly.”

The National Enquirer’s report, which stems from an 18-month investigation, will hit newsstands on Wednesday, Nov. 18.
