Although New York Governor Andrew Cuomo is well-known amongst residents in the big apple, the democratic politician has gained national notoriety for his response to the COVID-19 pandemic in NYC.

It appears Handler took notice of the governor’s rising popularity and single status. During an interview on “The View” on Wednesday, the comedian revealed she has a crush on Cuomo and asked him out on a date.

Handler shared the story when co-host Sara Haines revealed Cuomo was scheduled to make an appearance on “The View” on Thursday. The 45-year-old revealed Cuomo previously agreed to go out with her a few months ago, but she hasn’t heard from him since then.

Handler asked the hosts to find out why the governor ghosted her after he agreed to go on a date.

“I do want you to follow up on something for me, ladies, if you don’t mind,” the comedian said.

“I did have a conversation with Cuomo a few months ago, and I did ask him out on a date. And he did say yes. And then I never heard from him,” she added.

Handler admitted she was impressed with the way Cuomo helped New York recover from being the epicenter of the coronavirus pandemic.

“First of all, he’s like a big giant — he came in like the Incredible Hulk, right? We needed someone to come on the scene,” she said.

“We were so dehydrated for real leadership. Then he came on the scene, looking like this big, Italian hunk. He was like, ‘Wear a mask.’ I was like, ‘I’ll wear a mask, I’ll put a mask on every part of my body. I want to flatten your curve, and you can flatten my curve and then we can both apex together.’”

Handler’s confession about Cuomo comes amid her conversation with ex-boyfriend 50 Cent after he publicly supported Donald Trump for the upcoming election. The comedian revealed she had a long chat with her ex, who is now supporting Joe Biden.
