NBC TV series “Chicago Med” aired an emotional episode this week in which Dr. Sarah Reese helped a victim of sex trafficking. Fortunately, Danny managed to get his tracking device that the traffickers embedded into his skin removed. At first hesitant to get too involved, her mentor, Dr. Daniel Charles, decides to get on board with helping her patient.

What will happen next in “Chicago Med”?

Surprisingly, Sharon Goodwin’s (S. Epatha Merkerson) childhood sweetheart will show up at the hospital. However, his visit isn’t a personal one. Her ex-lover is sick. And needs help fast.

The official synopsis of Season 2, episode 7, titled “Inherent Bias,” states that Goodwin’s first love will be on the brink of death.

The promo for the upcoming episode shows Goodwin enlisting Dr. Ethan Choi (Brian Tee) for operating on her first love. He tells her quite frankly that most patients do not survive the health problems he has. “I don’t want your opinion. I want you to keep him alive,” she tells him.

Elsewhere, Dr. Will Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss) will try to deal with his financial problems by pondering over a concierge doctor app idea. He desperately needs the money.

Goodwin won’t be the only one taking center stage in “Chicago Med” Season 2, episode 7. Dr. Connor Rhodes (Colin Donnell) will fight with Dr. Charles (Oliver Platt) so that he can operate on a young woman suffering from a heart infection. Why do they argue over the patient? Because she didn’t give her consent to Rhodes to perform the surgery. Without consent, Rhodes is breaking the law by operating on her. In fact, technically, he’s assaulting her.

We will also see the return of Dr. Reese’s patient Danny (Rachel DiPillo). Is he ready to take down the people who forced him in to the sex trade?
