  • Aguilera, Mya, Pink, Lil’ Kim, Missy Elliott recorded "Lady Marmalade" in 2001
  • The L.A. Pride celebration is scheduled for Saturday
  • The program returns to the live scene after a two-year hiatus

Christina Aguilera is bringing back the magic of “Lady Marmalade” to this month’s L.A. Pride celebration.

The singer has recruited Mya for the mini-reunion as she headlines the Saturday show at L.A.’s State Historic Park, according to an exclusive report by Variety.

Members of the national touring company of the “Moulin Rouge!” stage musical are reportedly accompanying the singers for the program.

Aside from the duo, the original recording of the song also features Pink, Lil’ Kim and Missy Elliott. The track earned the title of Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals in the 44th Grammy in February 2002.

Aguilera is planning an hour-long set for the program and she is working out new surprises during the show, the outlet reported.

Meanwhile, the LA Pride celebration will run from 1 p.m. to 11 p.m. and will also feature performances from Anitta, Syd, Chika, Michaela Jaé, Bob the Drag Queen, Rebecca Black and Grag Queen.

The other performers for the show, which is themed #LoveYourPride, are Zolita, Allison Ponthier, Alexander Stewart, Edward Frame, A Club Called Rhonda, and Rossi among others.

After a two-year hiatus, this year’s L.A. Pride Parade will return to Hollywood Boulevard which was the site of the world’s first permitted gay pride parade on June 28, 1970. The post-parade Pride Village celebration will take place on Hollywood Boulevard between Cahuenga Boulevard and Vine Street.

The program’s celebrity Grand Marshal is “Hacks” star Mark Indelicato with Paula Abdul as Icon Grand Marshal and Sir Lady Java as Community Grand Marshal.

Aside from the performances, the festival also features exhibitors, various booths, food and drinks.

In 2020, live Pride events were canceled for the first time due to COVID-19 and were replaced by a virtual parade which marked the pride month's 50th-anniversary celebration.

The following year, organizers again opted to produce a virtual concert on Christopher West Street and streamed it via TikTok due to Coronavirus concerns. The show, dubbed “Thrive with Pride” was led by Charli XCX. Sharon-Franklin Brown, board president of Christopher Street West, the nonprofit organization that organizes LA Pride said in a previous interview with the L.A. Times that the live parade will return in 2022.
