Comedian Andy Dick Accused Of Sexual Assault; His Arrest Captured Live On YouTube

Comedian Andy Dick was arrested Thursday on charges of felony sexual battery. He was livestreaming on the Captain Content YouTube Channel when the arrest took place.

According to Orange County Sheriff’s department, Dick had been staying with a group of people living out of their RVs on a campground in Orange County and livestreaming their lives together when one of the members accused Dick of molesting him.

Orange County Sheriff spokesperson Scott Steinle said authorities were dispatched about 9 a.m. to O’Neill Regional Park in Trabuco Canyon to respond to the incident.

Steinle said the adult man claimed he had been sexually abused by the comedian while he was sleeping. While the authorities did not disclose the nature of the assault, Dick’s arrest was captured by “Captain Content RV,” a live vlog that was launched in 2016 and gives an account of day-to-day RV life.

“Did anyone witness anything last night—last night or this morning—anything unusual?” one of the responding deputies asked Maximiliano and a certain woman during the livestream. While their responses are unintelligible in the video, it showed Maximiliano explaining to the authorities that Dick had been staying in one of their friend’s RVs.

“He lets Andy stay there,” the witness told the deputies. “He’s been staying there for a while, camping.”

The livestream also captured the moment the accuser approached Dick and asked him, “Why did you assault me in my sleep?” Dick, who was lying in bed at the time, denied the alleged victim’s allegation and said, “I never assaulted you in your sleep. Can you leave me alone?” The accuser told the deputies that Dick used some lotion to his buttocks when he assaulted him.

Part of the livestream also captured the moment Dick walked out of the RV to talk to the authorities before he was placed under arrest. The comedian was booked into Orange County Jail with bail set at $25,000. The Special Victims Unit is handling the case due to the nature of the alleged victim’s allegation.

In 2018, Dick also made headlines after a woman claimed that the comedian squeezed her butt after they crossed paths on a sidewalk.
