His cousin is facing murder charges for Deimos’ death, but now that his memories have slowly begun to come back, Sonny fears he is the real murderer. Now, he must make a tough decision about whether or not he will come forward to the police on the Friday, July 7 episode of “Days of Our Lives.”

Deimos (Vincent Irizarry) was murdered at the Marton House party by one of the people he had drugged with Halo 2.0. Because everyone was under the influence at the time, none of them remembers who committed the crime on the NBC soap. They all also had motive for wanting him dead, which didn’t seem to help matters when the case was first investigated.

However, since then, an overwhelming amount of seemingly circumstantial evidence has piled up against JJ (Casey Moss), including Lani’s (Sal Stowers) recollection that he fought with Deimos, Deimos’ blood on his shirt, and JJ’s own DNA underneath Deimos’ fingernails. Because of the evidence, he is now facing murder charges, though he still isn’t sure if he committed the crime.

Sonny (Freddie Smith), who was also at the party and had reasons to want Deimos dead, has been having flashbacks to that night at the party as well. While he hasn’t had a memory that puts him in front of Deimos and plunging a knife into his heart, he has had one where he was standing over his uncle’s dead body. With that memory, he has confessed to Paul (Christopher Sean) that he fears he may have been the one to commit murder, but he doesn’t know if he should come forward.

Sonny is heartbroken and stressed that JJ, his cousin, is facing the charges, especially since he thinks he may be the one who committed the murder. A part of him wants to confess that he thinks he may have been responsible so JJ doesn’t have to take the fall for a crime he may not have committed, but another part is holding Sonny back. Just before Deimos’ death, Victor (John Aniston) named him the official heir to the Kiriakis family fortune, as well as the CEO of Titan Industries, something he wanted for a long time. If he admits to killing Deimos though, he will lose everything he worked so hard to get for himself.

Now, the time will come for Sonny to decide whether or not he will do the right thing, or the thing that best serves his own interests. If he chooses the right thing, he risks losing what he’s earned. However, he could also be losing it all for no good reason, if he too is not guilty of killing Deimos. If he doesn’t come forward though, he could be getting away with murder if he is guilty, and sending someone else he loves to prison for his crime. Sonny will feel tortured as he tries to make his decision, knowing that either way, someone will make an ultimate sacrifice.

“Days of Our Lives” airs weekdays on NBC.
