A deadly snake gave the rescuer "a run for his money" while he attempted to remove it from the laundry room of a home in Australia.

Snake catcher Joshua Castle arrived at a home in Queensland on Sunday after receiving a call from the homeowners saying they had seen a reptile slithering into their laundry room.

Castle found the red-bellied black snake hiding under the wall. The rescue was more difficult than Castle could imagine. It took him over an hour to capture the reptile.

"Homeowners called me, the wife saw it go into the laundry room. I arrived to find it hiding under the wall. I tickled it with my snake hook. It came flying out, past my hand and legs, it went up into the washing machine. It took so long as I needed to pull the washing machine apart," Castle told International Business Times.

The reptile, which was 3 feet long, was captured and released into some nearby bushland.

Castle took to Instagram to post a video of the rescue operation. In the video, Castle can be seen entering the room with the snake catching equipment. After searching for a while, he finally finds the reptile hiding under a pipe. He captures the snake and places it in a bag.

"This stunning red belly black snake (highly venomous) gave me a run for my money. This job took a total of 1 hour, plus a solid bruise on the back of my head," he captioned the Instagram video.

On the same day, Castle responded to another home in Queensland after a child found a highly venomous eastern brown snake in the bathroom while taking a shower. The snake catcher found the baby reptile beside the shower door. He captured it within five minutes and relocated it to a conservation park designed for wildlife.
