A deadly snake was sucked into a vacuum cleaner by a couple who panicked after finding the reptile in their house.

The incident took place Thursday at a home in Queensland, Australia. Sunshine Coast Snake Catchers 24/7 were called after the couple spotted the red-bellied black snake inside their home. The homeowners were shocked to see the venomous snake and in a bid to contain it, they grabbed a vacuum cleaner and sucked the reptile in.

"Thankfully the vacuum was not that powerful and the snake was un-injured," Stu McKenzie, who arrived at the home to relocate the snake, wrote on Facebook along with a video.

McKenzie reached the home and checked the reptile for any injuries that may have been caused due to the suction of the vacuum cleaner. He told the couple that in case they spot a snake in their home, the best way to ensure the reptile does not escape was to close the door of the room, and call the professionals.

"It's a strange one but I've seen it before," McKenzie said in the video. "Obviously we don't recommend using a vacuum cleaner but the lady did panic," he added.

McKenzie was seen in the video removing the snake from the vacuum cleaner and placing it in a bag for relocation.

There have been several cases of these snakes being found inside homes in Australia. However, according to the Australian Museum, red-bellied snakes are shy and do not attack humans unless provoked.

"Snakes are timid creatures and like to be left to do their own thing and certainly don't like to be interfered with by humans. All venomous snakes are usually timid and scared of us, there isn't really a lot of difference between the species, you may find some like the red bellied black snake for instance is more of a gentle snake compared to say the brown snakes as they are more defensive," Ange Broadstock, with Snake Catchers Adelaide, told International Business Times last year while talking about reptiles being found in unusual place.

In a recent incident, a woman was shocked to find a deadly red-bellied black snake coiled up inside her nightgown. Cheryl Gilchrist was getting ready for bed when she put her hand into her pajama drawer and felt the reptile. "It didn't feel quite right so I've looked and touched it again and I thought 'oh my god, that's a snake," she told 7News in January. Gilchrist said she was lucky as she didn't get bitten by the deadly snake.
