Wade (Ryan Reynolds) and Vanessa (Morena Baccarin) plan their future in a sneak-peek video from "Deadpool." Twentieth Century Fox

“Deadpool” may have released those cliché Valentine’s Day movie posters as a joke, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t a love story. The R-rated superhero flick will show Wade Wilson/Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) in a relationship with Vanessa Carlysle/Copycat (Morena Baccarin). The first sneak-peek video from the Twentieth Century Fox movie shows just how serious they are about each other.

In the clip, Wade appears without scars, meaning that this is likely before he gets his powers to be Deadpool. He and Vanessa are in bed when he tries to give a romantic speech. “Your crazy matches my crazy, big time,” Wade says. “And we’re like two jigsaw pieces, you know, with the weird curvy edges.”

“But you fit them together and you see the picture on top,” Vanessa says.

That’s when she decides to ask him something very important about their relationship. Wade has his own life-changing question, but it doesn’t seem like their minds are on the same page.

“Deadpool” won’t allow the couple to remain happy for long. The trailers make it clear that Wade has to save Vanessa after villains get a hold of her, but his health will cause other problems in their relationship first.

“You see Wade start to get sick and he gets cancer, and then their relationship becomes all about trying to save him,” Baccarin explained to Collider in November. “He, of course, wants to, sort of, send her away so she doesn’t experience that with him and then, um, he finds a way to push her away, disappears, and then we cut to eight years later. The movie is told back and forth through all that, so there’s time cuts ... it jumps around a lot.”

“Deadpool” hits theaters Feb. 10.
