A seemingly confused bear almost destroyed a car after it went inside and cannot find its way back out.

The Placer County Sheriff's Office took to Facebook and shared their daring rescue when a bear trapped itself inside a car.

The animal was apparently hungry and managed to get inside an unlocked car in Lake Tahoe in search for food, according to ABC7.

The bear, however, couldn't find its way out. The Sheriff's Office was immediately contacted to help free the animal.

“Thankfully, deputies were able to free him and send him away, but not before the bear had done considerable damage to the interior of the car,” said the post.

The video showed the inside of the car was almost destroyed – a clear indication that the bear was trying to escape by force.

The post added that bears are getting ready to hibernate and as such, they are hungry and always in search for food. The recent incident, on the other hand, came as a stern warning to drivers to always secure their cars.

“Do not leave food in your vehicles, lock your car doors and secure your garbage in bear proof containers!" The sign mentioned.

The San Miguel County Sheriff's Office, together with Telluride deputy marshals also rescued a trapped bear in Colorado on June 25.

The video was shared on the office's social media page where it showed authorities using a rope to open the car door from a safe distance.

Another bear almost completely destroyed a car's interior after getting itself locked from the inside.

Colorado Parks and Wildlife's Be Bear Aware campaign issued the same warning, telling residents to be vigilant, which read “Bears will work hard to get their calories they need, and can easily damage property, vehicles, and homes."
