A Florida deputy has resigned after bodycam footage showed him pulling a gun on a pregnant woman at a traffic stop last week while she was traveling with her three kids, reports said.

The incident occurred when Ebony Washington, who was 4 months pregnant, was pulled over for speeding while she was driving back to her home in Jacksonville with her children on Aug.19, NY Post reported.

Bradford County Sheriff's Office deputy identified as Jason DeSue signaled Washington to pull over her car at midnight after she was found driving at 75 miles per hour in a 55 miles per hour zone, reports said.

Washington, however, did not immediately pull over, instead, she turned on her emergency lights and drove to a well-lit area where she stopped.

"It was dark [and I was] with my kids. I felt uncomfortable. I didn't want to be able to not have anyone else around," Washington said, as reported by Cleveland 19.

Meanwhile, DeSue, who was upset with the woman for not stopping the car immediately, announced through the car speakers: "Pull the vehicle over, or I'll put you into the ground."

DeSue then followed Washington's vehicle as she got into a gas station parking lot and pointed the gun at her when she got out of her vehicle.

"If you make any movement, that'll be your last mistake you're gonna make. Do not move," DeSue reportedly shouted.

Although Washington tried to explain why she did not immediately stop, DeSue dismissed her saying he did not care about the reason.

"I'm trying to tell you the only reason why I didn't stop. I'm a very educated woman with a master's degree... I was only not because it was dark out and I have three kids with me. I'm pregnant, and I did not want them to feel uncomfortable," she said.

However, the deputy responded by saying: "Shut up about the why. Don't care about the why," and handcuffed her. He eventually left her after she was given a speeding ticket, reports said.

Although Washington said she was "obliging [and] corresponding" to the deputy during the traffic stop, she feels terrified to think about what would have happened otherwise.

"Had I done any type of movement outside of what he asked me to do, that could've been the opportunity for him to pull the trigger," she said.

Meanwhile, the sheriff's department observed that DeSue's response to the incident was violating the department standards, and he resigned after the incident.
