Kody Brown has been on the defensive end of things during the most recent season of “Sister Wives” after several comments he has made on the TLC show were seen as insulting to the women he is married to. However, after his most heated episode yet, he and his wives seem to be putting up a wall of silence on social media.

In the March 1 episode of the show, things got heated quickly when an argument over plots for their future homes erupted between Robyn and Meri, who were at odds over who would have their future home built into the trees at the family’s Coyote Pass property. Things exploded as the women relayed what they each thought had been decided on about the property, and Kody also got intense when he felt Meri was trying to pull strings and manipulate the other women.

Furthermore, tensions also arose as Kody started pitching a different idea entirely for the Coyote Pass land after meeting with a lawyer. While the land was supposed to be used to build four homes for the wives and their families, Kody then talked about turning it into an investment income instead—building home they could rent out, instead of all living together in the one area. While his pitch seemed to be ignored in favor of the family getting back together, the issue with the plots and who would live where remained unresolved.

Interestingly enough though, despite the family adults—Kody, Meri, Robyn, Janelle and Christine—always live-tweeting other episodes of the show and sharing their opinions online, this time, there was relative silence from the entire family over the drama that unfolded, with Janelle being the only one who spoke up.

As she tweeted about the episode, Janelle not only made sure to be clear the drama wasn’t scripted, but also called out fans who claimed their issues started when Robyn came into the family, reminding them that from the beginning of the show, she was a part of the family as she was courted.

“I think every family has their ups and downs. One disagreement does not define anything. We work it out day by day,” she added.

The silence after the tension that unfolded on the episode is a marked change from the rest of the season, one that has been rife with drama for the family as they contend with several issues following their big move to Flagstaff, Arizona. Not only have they struggled with selling the homes they left behind in Las Vegas and dealt with Kody’s proposal to live in one house, but they’ve also been handed a series of issues when it came to the properties they’ve rented, with Janelle and Meri both already each moving out of one rental each, and a second move for Meri and first for Robyn looming.

Despite the drama, the wives, in particular, have not been afraid to comment on things on social media, with Christine and Robyn both referring to Kody as “whiny” one week prior, and the Brown family patriarch even indicating he was being made to look bad throughout the season by the show’s editors.

As for whether or not the social media silence will remain going forward, fans will have to wait and see.

“Sister Wives” airs Sundays at 8 p.m. EST on TLC.
