When Bethenny Frankel left “The Real Housewives of New York City” last year, the cast appeared to be relieved that Leah McSweeney would be the newest addition to the Bravo reality series.

Following her debut on the series, Leah has made it clear that she wouldn’t stand for disrespect and had no problem sharing her opinions about others.

However, it appears her assertive personality almost made her lose her spot on the cast. During Leah’s appearance on the Tuesday episode of the “Not Skinny But Not Fat” podcast, Leah accused Ramona Singer of trying to get her fired from the show after the women took a trip to Rhode Island.

During the getaway, the women were embroiled in several arguments, which were fueled by alcohol. “Ramona tried to get me kicked off the entire show that weekend,” Leah explained.

The star suggested that Ramona could be jealous of her or may have an issue with who Leah is as a person. “I can’t think of any other reason why I’d be held to such different standards than everybody else unless she just sees me as like, I mean, again, I’m the tattooed one,” she said.

“I’m the one with a smaller apartment. I’m the one that lives downtown with the graffiti. I don’t know. Maybe she just doesn’t — maybe she thinks she’s like above me or whatever. I’m not really sure, you know, but it all plays out in the second half the season. It only gets worse.”

While some fans believe that Leah’s behavior on the Rhode Island trip was a result of her breaking her sobriety, the “RHONY” star insisted that she broke her sobriety before she began filming the show.

“I spent so many years not drinking, you know, most of my adult life, for nine years from age 27 to 36, I didn’t drink at all. So I’m much more comfortable living in that way. Like I have much more practice living and dealing with life without alcohol,” Leah revealed.

“Like everyone basically like got to see me — and I didn’t start drinking because of the show, I started drinking before I was even passed for the show.”

However, Leah believed production may have manipulated the footage to make it appear as if she has fallen back to her old habits.

“I think like it was the edit or whatever it is, or people were like, ‘Oh my God, she broke her sobriety for the show.’ And it’s like, ‘No, I didn’t.’ I broke my sobriety way before the show. And it was a very personal choice and it was something I have no regrets doing,” she said.

“The Real Housewives of New York City” Season 12 airs on Thursdays at 9 p.m. EDT on Bravo.
