Prince Philip and Queen Elizabeth II were recently seen in public separately and royal fans couldn’t help but notice how frail they have both become.

On the online forum site Quora, royal fans discussed the couple’s physical appearance and weighed in on whether or not they should be considered frail.

Jennifer Quail, a former student at the George Washington University, said that both the Duke of Edinburgh and Her Majesty are already in their 90s. The Queen, in particular seems quite spry.

“It cracks me up that these days, we act like someone in their sixties or seventies are positively ancient then are surprised that someone who’s almost a hundred appears a bit delicate,” she wrote.

Eileen Wood, a Republican since 1977, said that for the Queen and Prince Philip’s ages, they look quite good.

“Her Majesty is 93, she still rides horses, hardly frail. Yes, she’s moving a bit more slowly than when she was in her 20s, but she’s not using a cane or anything. Prince Philip is 98 and just had a hip replaced last year… 98 – two years shy of 100… He’s naturally going to be a bit frail but he’s doing marvelously for his age,” she said.

Tony Bartlett also said a similar thing. The royal said that for the age of 93, the monarch is still looking exceptionally well. The Duke, on the other hand, is five years older so he’s entitled to look a little frail.

The Queen and Prince Philip have been married for over seven decades. But it was recently revealed that they no longer sleep on the same bed. A royal expert said that this is because elderly couples tend to snore in their sleep, and the Royals don’t want to disturb each other.

Prince Philip also spends most of his days at Windsor Castle while the Queen continues her work at the Buckingham Palace. This summer, they will reunite in Sandringham.
